It’s part of several interventions of the Global Fund to support and strengthen community and civil society participation at all levels of its processes.

LAC Platform, joined to other five Platforms in Asia Pacific, Anglophone Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Francophone Africa and Middle East and North Africa; will contribute to the achievement of the general goal of the Community Engagement Strategic Initiative, described below:

Civil society and communities participate effectively and contribute to the preparation, execution and supervision of programs financed by the Global Fund.

Objective 1

To enhance community knowledge of the Global Fund and its processes, through the regular dissemination of tailored and targeted information to a diverse audience;

Objective 2

To strengthen the coordination of community engagement in national and regional Global Fund grants and related processes, making it more efficient and effective;

Objective 3

To support strategic community capacity development by fostering spaces for peer learning and exchange and supporting community skills building;

Objective 4

To improve community access to technical assistance through information-sharing, linkage to appropriate providers, support developing requests, and strengthening TA provider capacity and coordination.

The Community, Rights and Gender Strategic Initiative’s (CRG SI) objective is to strengthen the engagement of civil society and communities most affected by the three diseases in Global Fund and related processes.
