As governments around the world struggle to contain spiraling infections and an ever-increasing death toll from COVID-19,
Under WHO guidance, the Global Fund strongly encourages countries to take prompt action to mitigate the potential negative consequences of COVID-19 on existing programs supported by Global Fund grants.
New funding request dates include 3 additional application windows
As early as 4 March 2020, the Global Fund published on its website its first guidance note on responding to COVID-19,

We are aware of the extraordinary challenges our implementing countries are facing due to the rapidly evolving Covid-19 pandemic.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Global Fund is canceling all missions until further notice. We will send an updated version of country missions as soon as we can via the usual communication channel.
